Greetings from France-Installment 2

We have been exploring ancient history - beyond what we "New Americans" could ever imagine. Medieval villages with most of the buildings still intact, ancient Roman ruins from the 3rd century AD and landscapes of magnificent Cypress trees, old stone bridges and waterways.  The food, the wine and the Saturday morning marketplace in Nerac - c'est magnifique!  See more at Tkatch in Southwest France

  1. I am so jealous! Jim you take photos like I look at the world. I don't know how to describe it. Maybe it's because I have taken photos for a long time, wonderful, wonderful! I just have one question. In the photo of the two Roman columns, did you purposely angle it so that the two evergreens in the back would match the setting? Fantastic. Vous prenez des photos plus nombreuses et magnifiques.

  2. That is the way Jim sees the world too. And yes, he did purposely angle the columns with the cypress trees. This was an amazing archeological site of an opulent Roman villa from the 2nd century AD- amazing colorful mosaics on all of the floors (which visitors can see) - a modern heating system through the floors, flush toilets and more. Very unusual to see such opulence and technological advances all in one place.

    Merci pour les gentil mots.
